Nature Republic Snail CC Vital Cream (cc cream)

I'm definitely feeling the holiday spirit!

Are you all geared up for Christmas? While I emphasize the need to prepare spiritually such as praying more, giving more and having peace of mind not only this Christmas, but the whole year round, I would be hypocritical if I said that I am not giving attention to how I look this season; after all, this is a season of reunions and pictures!

As far as my makeup is concerned, yes I am beyond tempted to buy yet again. However, I already bought a lot from my recent trip to Korea and I am so satisfied with my purchases! From skincare to makeup… my only regret is not buying more! Haha.

One of my best buys is...
Nature Republics's Snail CC Vital Cream.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner

I've been searching high and low for an eyeliner that is REALLY SMUDGE FREE, aside from being water proof and long lasting. I have been disappointed to the point that I rarely wear eyeliner to avoid embarrassing panda eyes. Or black eye.

I've tried pencil, liquid, gel pot, pencil gel... I was always disappointed. I like Shu Uemura drawing pencil which I think is good but not good enough for my waterline because it still smudges. Not a pretty sight.

So when Japanese cosmetics made waves here in the Philippines, I was a little skeptical despite all the raves because majority of the reviews I've read came from sponsored bloggers (at least in the Philippines). I am not saying anything against sponsored posts but it's my personal choice to read as much from those who bought the product.

I held back until I saw the Kiss Me Heroine Make with its crying cartoon lady. Haha.

New Discovery, Korean Makeup Brand : ONL A Beautiful Moment

This post is not about a famous Korean brand or cult product, but I've been singing praises for it. The brand is ONL, which when I googled, did not show up much in the search results. On some items that I got, the  brand name is  "ONL A Beautiful Moment". Based on little information I've gathered, ‘ONL’ means ‘today’ in Korean and the brand's vision as I surmised is that, ONL makes today a beautiful moment.

How did I stumble upon this brand? I was strolling around the street leading to Ehwa Woman's University (which I think is the most enchanting place in Seoul, painted in full blast with autumn's colors, energy and vibrancy of college students, minus the influx of crowd in Myeong Dong) when I discovered the 1st ONL store in Seoul.

 Very picturesque, isn't it?

Too Cool For School Art Class Lip Crayon in Orange

I know it's not exactly the season to wear orange on my lips, but when I entered the Too Cool For School store at Myeong Dong in Seoul, South Korea, this is the first thing I've reached for. Really cute right? Reminds me of Crayola crayons haha.

This is not even included in my to-buy list. I was actually going for the famous pumpkin sleeping pack, however I was dismayed that there was no ongoing sale or discount haha so I ventured to cheaper thrills such as a lippie.

South Korea experience + Makeup and Skincare haul

Hello everyone!

I have awakened from my deep Korean slumber. Haha. May I just say that South Korea is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The transportation system is fast, convenient and efficient, even for noobs like me who have no sense of direction. Koreans were extremely helpful even if some of them had a hard time communicating with us in English. We resorted to gestures, guessing and them translating through online dictionaries and translation apps (ang bait lang diba? they could have just said they don't speak English but they are so kind to stop and help. Thank you!!).

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation

I have a new favorite!

While we are welcoming the "Hanging Amihan" with the barrage of Christmas jingles this season, it cannot be denied that the sun shines like it is summer. Grabe lang ang init! I need a super foundation that will last on me from morning until spontaneous dinner reunions! Liquid foundations usually give me oily T-zone after a few hours from application despite setting my makeup with powder. So I had to scout for a foundation which looks natural and yet, is built to last. In other words, a cream or liquid foundation formulated for oily skin.

Tarte's Amazonian Clay line (eyeshadow and blush) is quite a hit for me and my oily skin. And their foundation is no exception.

Roadtesting the Much-Raved UBER Manila Experience in the Philippines

I downloaded the UBER app as soon as I’ve heard of it earlier this year. However, I didn’t get to try it until this October (amidst the brouhaha with the LTFRB).

Shopping for Winter Clothes in the Philippines

The main challenge for my Korea trip is planning what to wear for an-almost winter weather. Based on Accuweather, no snow fall is expected as my trip falls the second week of November, which is a period of  transition from Autumn to Winter season. Cardigans won't work anymore but I don't need to wear full on winter gear just yet.

Since I availed of a promo round trip ticket, I have to pay for my check in luggage. This is not a problem in itself since beggars can't be choosers haha. But since I want to save up on space and baggage fees, I have to pack clothes and thermals which are lightweight for layering. I want to bring home a luggage full of Korean goodies, not used clothes. It's also not practical to purchase bundles of thick clothes since I won't be regularly using them in our tropical weather. But I want to buy thermal wear as inner clothing because I know I can use them again and the styles will never be outdated. What I'm specially happy about is that I bought these thermal clothes brand new at super discounted prices. Wanna check out my cheap finds?

Perfect Nude Lip Color Alert: Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel

I'm in such a jubilant mood today! In relation to my previous post, my Korean visa has just been approved! Yippee! It's time to shop for thermal wear!!!

In other news, I've been toning it down in the lip color department by wearing neutral colors. My no-fail pick me up nude is Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel.

My Korean Cosmetics Shopping List

I am so excited because I have planned a trip to South Korea! My friends and I booked the tickets early this year and I feel like I've been waiting forever. I haven't been even out of Luzon this year! And both times that I was out of the metro were mainly because of work. So yes, I welcome this opportunity to travel (and buy cosmetics) with open arms. I have been writing and re-writing my must-buy list for the past 6 months haha. So I hope I am not going to forget the items included in this list once I get there.

Crabtree and Evelyn, and The Body Shop's Hand Cream

I am really obsessed with hand creams now!

Now that we're veering around the colder (and rainy) BER months, I find myself using up hand creams more frequently. Also, since my work requires me to flip and read through volumes of records, some dating back to 20 years ago, I have to wash my hands or use hand sanitizer repeatedly. Otherwise, I'd get dust and all the invisible decade old germs (or insect droppings) on my hands haha! That's nasty.

Review: The List Salon

Hi guys!

I had a fabulous weekend. I had my hair colored at the List Salon using my Ensogo voucher (costs P1,200 but it was stated in the voucher that the services cost P10,000.00, It was funny, maybe that would be the price if I availed all the services simultaneously.

Be Vigilant and Protect Yourself this Shopping Season: How I was duped at Lucky Chinatown Mall Annex

I am still fuming mad because of what happened last Saturday. Honestly, I want to use my “lawyer” skills and knowledge to get even because I was duped and humiliated. Actually, there’s nothing wrong if I do get even because I could name a couple of violations which the store has committed and is still committing.

I was duped/conned/scammed at Divisoria (yeah, the place to be!) last Saturday but before you jump to conclusions about me having to expect it at a place like that, let me tell you that this is a stall located at Lucky Chinatown Mall Annex so it’s not exactly the muddled and chaotic Divisoria as we all imagine. In fact, it’s just like buying from a bazaar where you can haggle minus the hurried crowd. Some stalls even remind me of Cash and Carry Mezzanine which sell imported goods (not to be confused with those selling fake “authentic” imported goods; some owners in this area admit to having a branch or relative engaged in business in Cash and Carry too, still be careful though).

It happened when my mom accompanied me to purchase giveaways from a store selling imported goods in Lucky Chinatown Mall Annex. My mom has been going to Divi and all other similar places forever and she has mastered the art of haggling, has uncanny instincts when the owner/seller is selling overpriced items, or purporting to sell imported items from a certain country but in fact is not. I am not a Divi novice as well, although I am not a frequent shopper and I don’t have a suki.

So this is what happened:

I ordered four boxes of chocolate biscuits which the owner’s tindero placed in huge plastic bags. Each box costs P200.00. So the total was P800.00. After I handed my P1,000.00 bill to the owner of the store who was just behind the counter, she turned around to answer a phone call. I didn’t see where she placed my money because she turned around. I wanted to interrupt her to get my change of P200.00 but my mom told me to let the owner finish talking on the phone so as not to confuse her. Her conversation on the phone lasted for more than 5 minutes. When the owner put down her phone, another customer handed the owner a P1,000.00 bill and she immediately handed the customer’s change. Then I asked the owner, “how about my change?”

I was so surprised when the owner began shouting she did not receive my money. I was so flabbergasted and told her to stay calm and recollect where she put my money. My mom and I told her we handed a P1,000 bill right before her phone rang.  We would not have paid her if she was on the phone because we know she would be distracted. Unluckily, the phone rang at the wrong time.  My only mistake was, I should have interrupted her when she began talking on the phone. She denied receiving any bill from us and retorted “Bakit kayo magbibigay ng pera, eh hindi niyo alam ang total price?” (How could you pay? you don’t know the total amount of your purchase) I was so furious and answered in Tagalog, “How can we not compute? it’s P200 per box multiplied by 4. It’s simple, the total is P800.00. I don’t need any special computation to do it.” She answered “Ay basta! Lahat ng pera dito sa drawer ko naka-bundle. Impossible yan, wala akong P1,000.00 bill dito” (All the bills in this drawer are bundled/tied together. This is impossible, I have no loose P1,000.00 bill inside this drawer).

I asked her to open the drawer, lo and behold! my P1,000.00 bill was inside, not included in any bundle. The bill was just sitting on top of other bills which were tied with rubber band. She was so defensive when she saw the loose P1,000.00 and changed her story, claiming that the particular P1,000.00 was paid by the customer I was referring to earlier. To my dismay, that particular customer has already left the store. So she cannot testify for me. I said my P1,000.00 bill was crisp and new, like the one inside the drawer. I saw the particular P1,000.00 that the other customer paid which was wrinkly and yellowish. But the owner won’t budge. I was so frustrated because she was shouting at me. It didn’t help my case that her tindero said he didn't see my mom and I pay anything. I said he was not even focused in looking at the cash register or at us so there’s a chance he missed seeing us give the P1000.00 bill to the owner. Even if that tindero was standing near me, his attention was frequently called by other buyers asking for prices and he was talking to them as well.

As God as my witness, I told the owner she should have not answered the phone because she got distracted whereas she should have been entertaining her customers. Had she given me my change immediately, she would not have “forgotten”. She shouted and shouted at me, everyone was looking at us. I told her to stop shouting. In fact, I have all the right to shout at her instead because that’s my money which she claims to have not received. That’s my freaking P1000.00 bill in that drawer which she refuses to admit.

But do you know what happened? I had this voice inside my head saying let it go. I can have my money back and multiplied a thousand times over. God is watching us and He knows what happened. Whether this owner was feigning or her pride refusing to make her back down to own up her mistake (Which I am quite sure she discovered when she opened the drawer and finding my P1,000.00 bill inside), God knows.

It’s difficult to find balance between fighting for yourself and just stepping back. I realized that sometimes, you let go not because you are wrong or you admit defeat; simply, it means, taking the higher road even if you do not understand it.

Some of you may disagree and tell me why I didn’t use my being a lawyer in arguing. To tell you the truth, I don’t know either. I should have called the guards, reported the matter to the administration. Instead, I  told the owner that God saw what happened anyway, I can have P1000.00 or more back, but as to what will happen to her, I don’t know but God knows. I walked away.

I am still seething mad. As of now, I still couldn’t get the incident out of my head. I considered filing a complaint with the BIR to get even. The store owner didn’t issue receipts for purchases and I could give an anonymous tip to the BIR. Yes, that’s what I want to do NOW. But I have been praying about this too. This is a test for the both of us. It was a test for her honesty. It was test of my patience and willingness to let go of material things. God’s ways are so mysterious. Some people may say it’s so easy for me to give up P1,000.00 because I am a lawyer. Frankly, no. If it were easy for me, I wouldn’t be blogging about this anymore. I worked hard for that. I didn’t pull P1,000.00 bills out of thin air.

I prayed a lot about this last weekend. I lifted to Him all these negative emotions I felt, to let God handle this situation. I fought for myself; I explained my side. Yes, I could have hurled invectives against them and use my position (I work in the government after all) to get my money back, but really, with the way things are in the Philippines, using my position would only cast my office in a bad light. I want to tell you all, not in defense of the wrong doings of others, but there are government employees like me who choose to take the high road.

Looking back, if I mentioned my office and began to call on BIR, DTI, Bureau of Customs, the other bystanders who didn’t know what actually happened might say or worse,  even videotape me as a corrupt government employee who is using my position to dupe/not pay a poor vendor. That’s the reality. People commiserate with those who appear kawawa. Really, who would sympathize with a lawyer? Especially IF they hear me name drop government agencies? Because of what happened, I feel more sympathetic towards others who were caught on video shouting in English or saying this and that. I feel compassion towards them, not because they were correct but because when your rights are being abused, you want to defend yourself. Sometimes, it may come out the wrong way. Too bad, Filipinos love underdogs. Or those who appear to be underdogs. Be vigilant. Not everyone who was videotaped shouting is the wrongdoer. Do you notice how one-sided these videos are? The videos do not even capture how a commotion started, like what happened to the “amalayer” incident. I never criticized the student who shouted at the guard. Who knows, I might have done the same if I was manhandled.

Here are my tips and lessons learned especially now that the bazaar season is starting:

a. Make sure that you are paying the person who is authorized to receive payment. Well, I gave my money to the owner herself but there are customers who are conned into giving their money erroneously to posers.

b. If the person who received your money begins another task before giving your change back, interrupt him/ her and tell him/her to finish your transaction first. This is what happened to me. I let the owner answer her cellphone and talk for more than 5 minutes, letting her forget that she placed my money inside her drawer. I should have demanded she give me my change first.

c. If you are handing a huge bill like P500.00 or P1,000.00, take note of the first four or last four digits of your bill’s serial number. I know this is not really practical to do all the time, but take a glimpse of the serial numbers if you can before giving out your money. When I narrated this incident to my sister, she recalled that a similar incident happened to her in 168, years ago. But the good thing was she had a strange habit of looking at her money’s serial number before handing it over so she was able to dictate it when the cashier denied receiving her money. The cashier was so surprised and cannot deny that it was indeed my sister’s P500.00 bill in their drawer.

d. Have another disinterested person see/ witness that you paid for your purchases. Or say "ito bayad ko" loudly so that the person who gets your money has no choice but to give you your change. I now understand why restaurants and fast food cashiers and waiters say “I receive XXX pesos” when a customer pays. Having the words roll out of one’s mouth help both persons recall the transaction and the amount paid. Like how saying the words out loud help you in memorizing facts .

Well, I learned a lot from this experience and hope you all picked up something valuable from my not-so-good experience too. I wish/ pray/hope that JUSTICE gets served all the time. I cannot believe that something like this could happen to me. I guess it's being part of human and a super-humongous test for me to let go. Another note is to warn all who engage in deceitful practices to stop now. Truth be told, out of all the people who I knew to be bullies and power trippers in the past or who duped people for money, estafadors, etc., NOT ONE became successful in their careers. Some got terribly sick or plain miserable. Their lives deteriorated in general. Don't ask me about good people who suffer and get sick too. This is not an in-depth post on karma, but I am merely stating what I observed first hand.

I am still lucky that this untoward incident only involved money. There are millions of  things and problems which other people face everyday. No one is exempted from life's ups and downs. Including having to deal with cheaters and liars. It is so difficult to become the BIGGER PERSON. I am still praying that God take all these ill feelings from me away because honestly, I want to go back there, take pictures of the store and ruin the owner's business. I feel like the joke's on me because I am working to dispense justice but I feel terrible not being able to take my money back.  I am putting this on record to warn others and to share tips to avoid the same incident from recurring. More prayers. I need them.

Are You Ready for Octo-BAR? How I Survived the Bar Exam Season

It’s the month of Octo-BAR once again! The month of the highly anticipated Bar Examinations.

Before taking the bar EXAMS, I didn’t understand the hype surrounding it—why it was on the news, why there is a Send-Off and Salubong party, why the release of the results would even make it to Yahoo , etc.

When it was my turn, oh crap! This stuff is what real nightmares are made of. Haha.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte

Hi y'all!

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend to get you through another week of work! Haha. As much as I love my job, I love my bed more. But a girl has to eat (and buy makeup LOL), so work is very important!

To keep you inspired and motivated, how about rewarding yourself with a lipstick (or two)? I have swatches of NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte right here after the break..

The Body Shop Almond and Hand Nail Cream

Do you girls use a separate cream for your hands and nails? Each body part has its own cream that it can be so confusing: face cream, eye cream, neck cream, underarm cream, etc.I mean do we really need all those things? Or do you use the same product on your whole body save for your facial area?

I am one of the girls who use the same body lotion/oil for my body including my feet and hands. I even use the same oil on my face, body and hair sometimes so I appreciate multi-tasking products. I can't be bothered with using separate creams for target areas, Until I got The Body Shop's Almond Hand and Nail Cream as gift.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna

NARS made a huge lipstick collection this Fall 2014 with NARS Audacious Lipsticks. Marketing was pretty extensive as I’ve been seeing campaigns here and there. There is every color imaginable,

NARS powder blush in Orgasm

Seriously, NARS powder blush in Orgasm does not need any further intro. I think this is the most popular blush in the world. I am not a fan of the shade name and I guess the shade is dupe-able. So what makes this blush exceptional?

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Ultra Darling

I know that MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick is not something new but if I could recommend one lipstick for lip gloss lovers, this is THE ONE. I’m not a fan of lip gloss wands (double dipping is pretty ewww for me, nevermind, I'm just OC) so if I want glossy lips, I use MAC's Sheen Supreme.

Shiseido Perfect Rouge in RD 304

I consider Shiseido Perfect Rouge in RD 304 as my coming of age lipstick. If some people celebrate milestones in their lives with food, gadgets or clothes, I celebrate mine with makeup. A product of many firsts for me: This is my very first red lipstick, and it’s not even red red. Also, the first product I bought from my now favorite brand, Shiseido and the first high end lipstick I purchased.

Part 2: Padre Pio In My Life

Read Part 1 of my story here to understand how I met Padre Pio. My story is quite long so please bear with me. I cannot leave details out so you can comprehend how I was feeling that time plus everything that occurred which spanned over months.

MAC Lustre Lipstick in Lustering

I had to make this pahabol post before I finish off this lipstick! I've had this for more than a year! So dapat lang maubos na. Blogging for me does not only mean sharing the products I've tried and used with others but also a way to catalog these products so I won't forget them. As you can see, I'm on the verge of using up this particular lipstick.

Rosy Pink Cheeks with Benefit Lollitint

It was summer of this year when a good friend of mine asked me if I want to buy anything from U.S. as she was going there for vacation. I immediately thought of Benefit as I have not tried any of their products. I wanted to start with their lip and cheek stain because I think this is what Benefit is most known for. Benefit offers quite a variety for lip and cheek stains: Benetint with a translucent red hue, Posietint has an opaque baby pink finish (Korean brands and Mememe carry dupes which I've tried before), Chacha tint has an orange mango tinge (which I believe Korean brands have dupes of), and Lollitint which has a unique milky orchid color. So I asked her to buy me Lollitint.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus

Oh no, not another lipstick post. Hehe.

Well yes, I am a lipstick fanatic (it rhymes haha!).

Lately, I've been venturing into medium to high end brands when it comes to makeup because the quality is at par with the price (so far, with those that I've bought). Since wearing quality lipsticks, I seldom have cracked peeling lips and I don't even wear lip balm that much anymore. Clinique is one brand that I trust and turn to when it comes to lipstick. My love for the brand started when relatives from abroad give Clinique makeup loot to my mom as pasalubong. I would play with the makeup at home and did not get allergies or adverse reactions from the products. So now, even if I get to use makeup from other brands, I make sure to check Clinique makeup once in a while. I had good experience with Clinique's Chubby Stick in Roomiest Rose which encouraged me to get more from the line.

Here's a review of Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm:

What I Saw in Singapore

It's been a year since my trip to Singapore. I had all these photos in my phone which I didn't know where to upload. Haha. I did not share these pictures on my Facebook account. Wala lang. Don't want to bombard my fb page with photos. But this is sort of my online journal so I thought of posting the pictures here. These pictures really don't seem much, food shots, mostly quirky and other things I encountered in Singapore which I couldn't get myself to delete owing to the special memories they hold in my heart. haha.

One thing I learned about Singapore is that the cost of living is very high, prices of goods are expensive but the income tax is much lower than ours. So people who want to save up like my friend who worked there iwas shopping nalang and minimize yun paglabas labas sa mga non-work related lakad unless it's important. Unlike in the Philippines, our tax rate is as high as 32%. With our tax rate, I guess kahit man lang toll fee sana mababa ang price, but no, everything is shouldered by the hard working Filipinos.

P.S. I hope one day our country becomes progressive like Singapore, kahit na sa transportation system lang. Our country is not commuter friendly, not even private vehicle friendly haha. Imagine to get to one place through commuting, puro usok at amoy araw na pagdating sa destination. The worst part is the lack of protection and safety to commuters in our country.

Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush

I’ve learned my lessons from over hyped products (or so I think haha). I won’t buy something expensive unless there’s a consensus among reviewers that the product is an A grade. (and no, freebies given to bloggers which have suspiciously inflated reviews don’t count. Emphasis on the word suspicious, meaning the top rating was garnered from bloggers who got the product for free but those who purchased the same thing gave contrary feedback). When in doubt, I turn to for objective and unbiased reviews.

For foundation and face bases, I’ve read that Beauty Blender is top-notch. But I can’t shell out that much for a mere sponge. I mean, it is a sponge! So I looked up at some foundation brushes and saw nothing but praises for Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush.

Pink Lipstick Friday: MAC Speed Dial Lipstick

This is one of my favorite pink lipsticks from MAC, which I think is underrated. Boo. Why is this so?!! Hehe. Anyway, I’m a fan of pale pink lipcolors because I think the color makes me look “mabait” and approachable haha! But I had a hard time looking for the perfect pale pink color because other pale pinks are so chalky and emphasize my dry lips. No no to that! As I’ve said before, I can’t do a Nicki Minaj lip!

My Super Affordable and Effective Eyebrow Picks

I have actually pretty decent eyebrows—which means they don’t disappear when I wash my face. On a side (albeit, still relevant) note, I heard a funny story about Pokwang (a local actress), she revealed during an interview that once, a fire was near her house (or hotel room?) sorry I can’t remember which. Everyone else was grabbing onto important things or documents and just running outside! Guess what she wanted to do during that panic moment?

My Super Handy E-book Library

Good Morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing with you one of my hobbies: READING!

I've literally grown up inside a bookstore because my parents seldom brought my siblings and I to toy stores when we were kids. Instead, they brought us to bookstores ! We'd just browse, buy pens or stationery and stickers. If we're lucky, we get a story book home with us.

Makeup In My Bag

Now that I’m working, makeup has taken up the space in my bag—space which for the longest time was occupied by books.

I don’t use all of these everyday and I don’t retouch much as well. I just like the idea of lugging these around in case I have an impromptu after office meet up with friends. There are also those times when I’m feeling blah in the afternoon and feel worse when I look at the mirror and see the tell tale signs of computer fatigue (I might be inventing this up, but you know what I mean: dark, sunken and strained eyes, dry or oily skin, scrunched forehead).

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lotus Pink

Because I’m on a Laura Mercier roll, I’m posting another Laura Mercier product review, Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lotus Pink

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Provocateur

Just a quick post to show you my fave lipstick at the moment.

I was hesitant to try Lacquer Balm (Revlon has also produced a matte version) due to reviews stating that this has glossy and shimmery/glittery finish. Uh-oh. I am so over the days of glitter

I'm a Lawyer and I Don't Look Like Elle Woods

Funny that when I googled “lawyer attire”, all these pictures of people in handsome suits (most probably with a more handsome price tag) came out. We are bombarded with how lawyers are supposed to look, in tv shows, in the movies, in glossy print ads. We imagine how lawyers are supposed to look

Happy Skin Shut Up and Kiss Me Lipstick in Spring Fling

The entire social media scene is taken by storm with this fast growing new brand "Happy Skin" so I guess by this time, pretty much everyone knows the Happy Skin story. So I won't touch on that.

I am so easily influenced by social media and I must admit that the packaging, product description and celebrity advertisements got to me. Celebrities like

Maybelline Master Glaze by Face Studio Blush Stick

I am going through Spring frenzy now. So many colors, so little time (and budget!). Haha. A lot of brands are coming up with really good color choices that it's so hard to pick just one.

Anyway, do you guys like cream blushes? I seriously wanted one to work on me. But I never had much luck on cream blushes. They just fade into oblivion or slide off my cheeks due to our humid weather! I never stopped trying though until I found an HG cream blush in stick form.

What Dreams Are Made Of: Tarte Be Mattenificent Palette

I am swooning over this spring edition palette from Tarte!

I have been searching high and low for the perfect MATTE and NEUTRAL palette. I can't just find enough justification to splurge on a sparkly shimmery color range since I have no doubts that such kind of palette will only go to waste with my kind of everyday looks. I bought two matte neutral eyeshadows from Inglot and they already cost me P700.00 (15 USD or 7.5USD per refill) without a container! Arrgh.

Until I saw this palette being featured as one of the most recommended spring limited edition palette. I just had to get my hands on it! I contacted friends abroad to snap a palette for me and waited for 7 excruciatingly long weeks just to get it. Now it's mine!!!

While this palette costs 36USD (almost P1600 + taxes), it is more cost efficient for me because it contains 6 eyeshadows, 1 blush, 2 eyeliners and a brush to boot. So each color in the palette costs only 4USD!

I also looked up Urban Decay naked 1-3 but decided that the shining-shimmering-splendid options are a no-no for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have the heart to play with it just yet. I am still in the "adore-me-don't-you-dare-touch-me" stage. So I just gaze at this adoringly and hopefully will come to my senses soon enough and use it! haha

The fact that this is made of Amazonian Clay (never mind that I don't know the benefit of Amazonian clay on one's skin) and is free of parabens are two additional points up in my book.

Now, on to the pictures: Drumroll please.

I just love the color purple, so chic!

This palette is quite heavy too!

Tarte even included a step by step tutorial on how to use the palette

I can tell that all the shades included in the palette were well-thought of. They coordinate nicely just like how cream goes with coffee =)

Shiseido Perfect Rouge in RD 553

I was feeling a little "meh" today. So i swiped some serious color on my lips. Of course, I chose the most pigmented and brightest of all my lipsticks.

Shiseido Perfect Rouge in RD 553.

Just Write Away!

I have been blogging since Friendster days. I was actually very excited when Friendster added the Blog feature (so now you know that I'm quite old!) But I realized that there were a lot of things that I don't feel comfortable sharing with all those

Feeling Spring-y with Etude House Color Pop Tint

Gone are the cold cloudy days we experienced last December and January. Why, Mr. Sun is shining fiercely again. So I packed my red and berry lipcolors and out came my peaches and pinks.
